Due to the fact that we offer the smallest legal sizes, as well as custom sized number plates for all vehicle types in the UK, it does get a bit overwhelming when selecting the correct size number plate for your registration number. With this in mind, please read on for information on our number plate sizing guide.

The smallest legal number plate size is subject to the number of characters/digits needed to be displayed on your number plate and the character sizes per each digit which helps dictates the minimum size your number plate must be. If you go for a plate size that is too small for your specific registration number, then there is a high probability that your number plate characters/digits will over-hang the plate boundaries. In order for the registration mark, and number plate itself to be road legal and be displayed within the minimal margin required, the correct size plate needs to be selected.

It must be noted that you can always select a larger plate for your registration number but not a smaller plate for your registration number. For example, if the registration number to be made was AB55 ABC, then a number plate for 7 characters can be selected but a 6 character plate cannot. Alternatively, if the registration number was AB6 ABC, then a 6 character or 7 character registration number can be selected but a 5 character cannot.
