All our vintage black and silver aluminium pressed number plates are made from high-quality, aluminium covered with black reflective sheeting. Our pressed plates are processed with a hot stamping machine with a silver thermal coating. With all orders, you will receive a certificate of authenticity and declaration of legality to prove you comply with the law.

These classic themes, black and silver pressed number plates, are made to a considerable standard and fully comply with the current legislation with regard to vehicles within the UK for older vehicles that are over 40 years of age. Once your number plates are fixed to your vehicle, they remain compliant with current regulations, even if standards change in the future.

Our borders are approx 2-3mm thick and come as standard with all of our pressed metal number plates; currently, the only colour we offer is silver.

Eligibility and Regulations

To legally display black and silver number plates on your vehicle, it’s essential to meet the eligibility criteria set out by the DVLA. The most important requirement is that your vehicle must have a construction date prior to 1 January 1980. Only vehicles built before this date are eligible to display black and silver plates, and they must also be recorded in the DVLA’s historic tax class. This ensures that only genuine classic and historic vehicles benefit from the vintage look, preserving authenticity and avoiding undue costs for owners of eligible cars.
